Thanks for the post. With this one, I'm going to suggest the Firmware download and there is a scan update that does address scanning communications issue. I've included the link below to get you there. Please note, read directions on the F/W and update first and follow them to the letter. Good Luck!

have HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A wireless printer that prints all, but when i try to scan, there is a pop up that says does not recognize a scanner... help

In the scan tab of the Office Pro 8500 A910 Embedded Web Server Page, after I press "start scan" and the scanned document shows up in the image preview window, an instruction (in red) says that I should click on the "save icon" , but there is no such icon that I can see that tab and thus the scan is not saved. How do I save the scan if there is no save icon?
(Note that I have a appropriate network folder - I know this because I can save scans to it using the control panel on the Office Pro 8500 itself.)
