HP PSC 2355 all-in-one Printer/Scanner/Copier will not scan to PC

Need help with this one, Friends:  Our HP PSC 2355 refuses to scan to our PC; when we press the Scan To or Start Scan button, we receive the following message: "You need to install or run HP software for this feature". 

We went into HP Director to see if there was some way to get around this message, but then we received the following message: "Could not find the path "C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\Bin\..\Skins\HP1\HP1_Skindef.xml" 

We've had this piece of hardware for about three or four years now; the software has worked during our ownership, and now we can't get to first base; the thing has a mind of its own!  Can anyone help us?  Thanks much!

I am having the same problem as you..psc series all in one 2355 will not scan to computer..I recently purchased a new computer with vista software..The computer prints to the printer but cannot scan to computer..keeps stating to run and install software.  If you solved this problem..pls help <text removed for privacy>

Hello everyone!

The scan to button on the printer will only work if the full feature software is installed on your computer.

To make sure that the full feature software is installed, kindly choose what operating system do you have on your pc:

PSC 2355 driver download:

WINDOWS XP

WINDOWS VIsta 64 bit

Windows Vista 32 bit

Windows 7 (work around. No driver can be downloaded)

I am having the same problem on my 7200 series printer, with Vista Home. I downloaded the software and it still gives me the same message. Any suggestions?

I need software for the hp psc 2355xi in order for it to scan.  I use Windows 7 64 bit.
