HP Photosmart 6510 will not print 4x6 photos

I cannot find a way to scan and print a 4x6 photo. It only uses the 8x10 paper. I am using Windows 7 and it functions in all other aspects of the program. What am I missing??

Re: HP Photosmart 6510 will not print 4x6 photos

To Scan:

When you are in the printer software, click on scan a photo, choose what kind of file you want to save the scan as, usually pictures are JPEG, to the right you have the option to change the scan size, choose 4x6", make any other changes you need and hit the scan button.

To Print:

Once you open the picture and tell it to print you should get a dialogue box that will allow you to choose the paper size and the paper type, choose the appropriate paper and hit the print button.

Re: HP Photosmart 6510 will not print 4x6 photos

I did what you first posted in the solution, yet it still tries to print on the 81/2x11 paper... I even took out the paper and only left the 4x6 HP Advanced Photo paper in the 2nd tray, and it still chooses to print the 81/2x11 paper.

Re: HP Photosmart 6510 will not print 4x6 photos

Take the top part of the paper tray off, the part the paper rests on when its done printing. Then pull the bottom tray out a little. Reach in and push the 4x6 tray in all the way until it stops. It travels pretty far in. hold it in and push the bottom back in and replace the top. It seems there should be some tractor feed that makes it all work but ours didn't or I haven't solved that riddle yet.
