HP Photosmart Plus all-in-one B210e quit scanning. I get Error 2: failed to copy port monitor files.

My HP Photosmart Plus all-in-one B210e quit printing, scanning and everything. I spent 4 hours on phone with support and paid them for problem solving which didn't happen. I got it printing on my own the next day and they didn't refund my money. But anyway, it seems the scanner isn't installed. When diagnosed it says, 'Error 2: Failed to copy port monitor files. I have Windows Vista 32-bit. We tried to uninstall and reinstall when HP had me on the phone and that didn't work.. Any suggestions? Please!!!  Someone must have had this same Error 2 message before.
