HP just sucks. Period. I will never buy another product from them ever again.

Hi "bobkill"
I followed your instructions.
Under "3", Service status was "Stop" and I changed this to "Start".
There was no error, but to be certain I checked that "4" and "5" were correctly set.
I re-started Windows, went to printer, right clicked and "Open", but couldn't find "Activate Scan to Computer".
If I click "HP Print Assistant" and then "Manage Scan to Computer" it shows "Scan to Computer is activated".
If I click "Scan a Document or Photo", nothing hapens.
If I try to operate a scan using the printer it goes through all the correct steps including "Now scanning", but then under the heading "Scan Deactivate" it states that "The computer is not responding" and suggests checking that Printer software is running and that "Scan from Computer" is activated via printer software.
Please can you ( or anyone else ) provide any advice.

I've tried all of the suggested solutions without success. I was previously able to scan wirelessly from my computer (a netbook running Windows 7 starter), but now the scan options says that the HP Photosmart Plus B210 series was not found - it prints to it without an problems though. I think this may have happened after an ill advised attempt to install some sort of extra twiddly bit from the eprint centre that I didn't even really need.
I've spent all day fiddling with this and I'm getting ready to start throwing things. I've tried to uninstall everything to start again, but can't and I've tried reinstalling from the CD as well as from the website. NOTHING works, can anyone see where this is going wrong please?

@Taisi5, sorry that you are having this issue with your scanning.
Try to disable your firewall and anti-virus. Run the print and scan doctor and check the results.

Thanks for trying to help. I think I tried this yesterday, but I've done it again just in case. The HPPSdr says that the full software is not installed, but when I then try to do this (still with the firewall and antivirus off) it says that the Install Failed and sends an error report.
I also tried to uninstall/reinstall using the HPPSdr, but it says the HP uninstaller is not present and suggests using Add/remove program in Windows - I have already tried this and nothing seems to uninstall the printer so that I can start again.
I'd be grateful for any other help?

See if you can do a L3 uninstall. Here is a link that will guide you on how to do it. If you DO NOT have a HP computer, you can do a L4.
