I would like to know how to change the location where the scan puts the file.

HI ROT2,

 

This depends on which printer and software you are using?

 

Normally you will find a "Save to file Save Option" like the screenshot below.

I see this when I start a new scan (where to save file location), but when I change it, the next time it defaults back to ....my scans.. folder.  How can I change the default file save location for scanning documents?  I don't want to change it everytime I scan a document.

From Solution Center go into your scan to settings and make the change from there.

So not true!  The changes are not persistent between scans.  When I restart the HP Solutions center, it goes back to its default location, not where I last told it to save.  There appears to be no WAY to change the DEFAULT SAVE TO location.

 

Unless you can send explicit instructions that actually are proven to work.

I have installed the printer, and determined that there is no option to hard set a scan to location. You will need to set this each time you scan. Hope you have a good day.

NOT POSSIBLE to permanently make this change.  You MUST set the location each time you scan a document...   you cannot change the default save to file location through the HP Solution Center UNLESS you create a NEW SCAN BUTTON FOR EACH FILE TYPE your trying to save.  The default scan to buttons are hard-coded to the mydocuments folder and CANNOT be "changed".  I've tried!  NOT possible!!!  Sent several feedbacks to HP over the years and this simple request has not been addressed.  Maybe some day... but not today.
