How do I scan because there is no folder to scan to. Working fine until lately. (19 Views)

How do I scan because there is no folder to scan to. Working fine until lately.

I have a HP Photosmart C4280 All-in-one operating on Windows XP.  Until a few days ago, this little system was working perfectly.  Now when I try to scan something, there is no folder to scan to.   the C:\Documents and Settings. . .  has disappeared.  How can I put it back.
