after spending hours with a tech online that I paid for and thought it was HP company tech support (I had been deceived online and told my computer and 3 in 1 were going to blow up if I didn't pay $150.00 right away for him to fix it ) I found out that I couldn't do this from the 3 inn only I had to involve my computer now I am completely mixed up. Do you even know how I ended up with this guy I think I went to google after trying to find a phone number for HP my computer is 2 months old and I shouldn't have had to pay for help So bottom line I guess I got him to help me I just can't do what I want and perform the action from the machine Thanks

Are you receiving any kind of error message when you try to scan?
Wait - this is considered a "solution"?? Where's the solution?

I can't believe this is still considered "SOLVED."
While it may be solved for the OP, there's no solution actually posted on this thread. This is very similar to this post: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-In

So you are still recieving the error message "installation is not complete"?
Let me know if thats the case or if you are getting a different error message now. This will help me determine what kind of troubleshooting steps we need to take to try and get this taken care of for you.
