I cannot scan as a pdf on ny HP Officejet 7410 all in one

After connecting the HP Officejet 7410 to my new Dell computer, I no longer had a choice to scan as a pdf.

Hi shmcafee

 

Are you scanning via front panel or from within Solution Center.

You should see scan document or document to file, and there should be a PDF icon to the left of the shortcut.  If not you may have to create a custom scan shortcut which is easy.  On the right side under  "Scan Shortcut Settings" you want to click the drop down arrow for File Type, you should see PDF or PDF-Searchable, select it then Save Shortcut.

pdf is not listed under file type

When you first open Solution Center (SC) did you select Scan Document or Scan Picture...
