The Siemens router was the old one that I replaced with the BrightBox. The problem was identified and rectified (router firewall issue) on the Siemens. Can't really say how or why that was a problem.

The router faces the internet and I have laptops and this printer connecting to it .... in addition to a wifi phone every now and then. Hope this helps.

Did you ever see the router firewall issue with the BrightBox, or just the Siemens?   Sound like you have a typical setup, I'd like to have our team here order the Siemens router (or both if you had the problem on the BrightBox as well) and reproduce this here in our test lab.

With both. I found the fix with the Siemens, and replicated it on the BrightBox

I too have a Photosmart 6510 "Will not Scan" issue! Glad some folks get this resolved.

Running Windows 7 with USB connection. Paretologic Health Advisor registry tool. I CAN scan from Paint and Win Fax and Scan but can't get it to save as PDf (additional issue). I tried reinstalling 3X. Called customer support and ran HP Print and Scan Doctor (which DID allow a pdf save).

I also tried resetting the various WIA, ShellHardware Detection and Remote Cell Procedure services. Maybe not in the proper order?

Message reads:

Scan Unsucessful - An error occured while scanning. Please make sure your computer is connected to the printer and try again.

I have completed your recommendations and the WIA in started and in Auto, but I am still getting " HP Photosmart series not found"
