Multifunction Printer with duplex scanning option

Hello together,

i´m looking for a new hp Multifunction solution. A must have feature is the duplex scanning function via ADF. The problem is that i only find statements in the manuals like. Depending on the model it is possible.

As the model no. is not mentioned it doesn´t help.

Especially i´m interested in the HP 7590 or the new HP 8500.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Multifunction Printer with duplex scanning option

HI,

Yes, both the printers you mentioned have duplex scanning option in the software provided along with it. I would suggest you go for the OJ PRO 8500 Wireless AiO printer.

Re: Multifunction Printer with duplex scanning option

Hi,

thanks for your reply and suggestions.

Why the OJ pro 8500 wireless AiO printer and not the simple OJ 8500)

I´m writing form Europe and in Germany there are currently two versions

8500 CB022A

8500 CB023A same but with 128 MB, color LCD, wireless and 100,-€ more. The only argument for me is the RAM but it´s for 2 person with a small wired network. (Homeuse) Currently we use a Cp1160 which is fine.

But maybe you have really good arguments whihc are not obvious for me.

Re: Multifunction Printer with duplex scanning option

The wireless model has a 2.4" touchscreen display which is much easier to use when compared to a 2-line LCD display. Navigating through the menu options is easier with a bigger screen and it decreases button presses. the base model has volatile memory, so if you have any faxes in the memory of the printer, and you have a power cut, then the faxes will be lost. but this won't happen with the wireless model. If you don't need wireless capability or touchscreen display, then you can go for the base model. but with the OJ Pro 8500 series out in the market, going for the OJ PRO L7590 wouldn't be the best option unless you have financial constraints. the OJ 8500's consume less power, give better printouts, and manage ink better.

Re: Multifunction Printer with duplex scanning option

thanks for your fast reply and detailed answers. one last issue. What about the working with vista. It seems that the net is full with forums discussing about problems of the 7xxx series. Are these really solved with the 8xxx series.

Thanks

Re: Multifunction Printer with duplex scanning option

It's obvious that you will find posts by people who cant get their printer to work with Vista. Not many people will post that their printer is WORKING FINE with Vista. But i can assure you that the L7000 series works with Vista, and so does the 8500 series. If this is the first time you're installing an HP product on your PC, then you should be fine.

Re: Multifunction Printer with duplex scanning option

Thanks. of course you only find people claiming about a product. But the amount gives you at least a hint.

I never had have problems with HP hardware. I think i´ll go for the 8500, Just have to wait until the shops here really offer it, maybe after the CEBIT. At the moment you´ll find it just on HP germans website.

Thanks

Re: Multifunction Printer with duplex scanning option

[ Edited ]

Hi there

Another dedicated HP customer here.

I am a professor (Mathematic) from Greece and (for my job) I highly want to use a duplex scan machine. I was lucky enough to find this forum, so I have a couple of  similar questions with all the above:

1) Please confirm to me that HP 8500 (CB022A, the NOT-wireless model) has the duplex scanning option available. Since here in Greece the difference in cost between HP8500 nomal (CB022A)) and wireless (CB023A) is about 120 Euros, and since I don't really need Wireless and can live with no LCD display, I would prefer the 150euro non-wireless edition, rather than the 270euro wireless one...

So HP 8500 [CB022A] AiO non-wireless does also have duplex scanning?

2) What about HP 6500 wireless, CB057A? Does it also have duplex scanning option?

As you understand, I need the duplex scan option only, I will even rarely use the printer (already have a laser ;-) )

And I need a non-expensive working solution from HP.

Thanks in advance for your time and answers.

Greetings from Greece
