My HP Envy only scans a portion of the picture when scanning to a computer?

I place a picture on the scanner (for example a 5x7 size) and for some reason only 1/2 of it ends up in the file on the computer - on a 8x10 only the top quarter is on the scan - I feel silly but cannot figure this out - Please help - Thanks, Susan

HI Bluebordercolli,

 

Run the HP scanning software and stop at the screen that offers the file type.  In the upper right, there is a selection for image size.  Is the size set to something smaller than letter?

Where do I exactly get this software? Did it come with the printer or what? Because I have no recollection of a software like this coming with my printer.
