New HP Officejet 6500 - Won't scan to file

Installed new Officejet 6500.  Everything works - Fax, Copy, etc.  Cannot get scanning process to complete.  Will scan document, shows on computer screen - when I click on "finish", everything locks up.  On Solution Center Screen say, disconnected.  How can it scan and be on my screen and be disconnected.  Help

Did you figure this out? I installed windows 7 and can't save scans just as you have described.  I uninstalled all HO printer software and redownloaded and reinstalled it all.
