No black ink but only want to scan to computer via usb.

HP Photosmart 2570 All-in-One series,Im out of black ink but it wont let me scan via usb to my computer.Able to print in colour.Windows Vista 32-bit.Tried even putting empty ink cartridge back in but then says not supported?

What's the exact error message when you attempt to scan to the computer?

Well its not letting me do anything just says insert black or photo print cartridge in right stall.

Exclamation light also flashes and unable to get responce from scan to button.

Unfortunately, you are going to need to purchase some ink and put it into the cartridge slot. The reason for this is, the printer won't actually allow you do to anything before it can detect genunine ink cartridges.

I did think that but you would of thought that to just scan to a comp you shouldent need ink but i suppose its another way for them to get you to buy that ink lol thanks anyway Hudson512 : )
