Officejet 6600 can not scan, copy, fax

Operating system: Win7 64bit

connected: USB

Issue:

I am having issues with the 6600 scanning anything at all.

Infact I have uninstalled the 6600 product drivers 3 times. I'm still getting the same error message. "Can not copy, scan, or print" message.

6600 doing a scan. I did a test scan and its says that everything "looks" right.

I did an HP diagnosics on it and said that its having issues connecting the drivers on the computer to the printer.

Same error comes up for the copy side and fax.

I have unplugged the printer let it reboot itself and do a self test. - Which it completed.

This is only a week old printer.

Please help.

Re: Officejet 6600 can not scan, copy, fax

Hi,

Are you able to make a standalone copy, if no, try makeing a copy.

If issue still remains, reset the printer (Turn off and turn on).

If issue still remains, try connecting the printer to a different wall outlet and try making a copy.

Re: Officejet 6600 can not scan, copy, fax

Hi,

Restore the printer to factory defaults by performing a reset, Steps to reset are mentioned below,

Disconnect powercable, reconnect power cable

  1. While applying power, press and hold Power button for 5 sec.
  2. Press BL, BL, BL, BL Buttons, in sequence.
  3. Touch Support Menu.
  4. Press Right arrow for Reset Menu and Touch OK.
  5. Press Right arrow for SemiFull Reset and Touch OK.
  6. Wait for unit to Power Down/Turn Off.
  7. Press Power button to turn the Printer On.

NOTE: Reset will restore to factory defaults and all user settings will be reset.

Re: Officejet 6600 can not scan, copy, fax

After spending FOUR ( 4 ) hours and speaking to someone over in CHINA I had the same problem and the FIX is to REMOVE the APC Power Supply that I was using and CONNECT DIRECTLY to the WALL Outlet.  Manual does NOT say that and I'm getting S I C K of spending my valuable TIME AND MONEY talking from USA to CHINA.  Probably the LAST HP Product that I will ever buy. So much for being a "valuable customer".

Hi ABCDEFGHIJKLee,

Have you tried the above reset?
