Re: Officejet J4580 Scanner failure

On my third and last HP aio, scanners seem to get lost while initializing on power up.  I thinking they wear themselves out by seeking the home position every few minutes when left on for long periods.  A DESIGN FAILURE and I'm not sure it isn't intentional.

Re: Officejet J4580 Scanner failure

It looks like the scanner sled under the glass has two rollers and one has a spring under it the other does not.  I added some springy foam to the one mising a spring.  Best guess is scanner sled is settlling and can't see calibration marks on the underside of glass area.  Been working for a few months now.
