Officejet Pro 8600 Plus - Viewing Fax History Content

This is isn't an issue--on my old officejet (7310 xi) I could go to the fax history and view a .pdf file of each of the faxes that I had sent.  This came in handy because I had a record of exactly what was sent to a particular party.

The fax function works great on the 8600 but I can't seem to find where I can view what I actually faxed to someone.  Is this function available on the 8600 pro printer?

Thank you.

Re: Officejet Pro 8600 Plus - Viewing Fax History Content

Hi,

You can see the fax log via the HP software as following:

  1. From the desktop, click the HP Officejet Pro 8600 icon.
  2. Double click on Fax Actions.
  3. Enter Manage Fax Settings.
  4. From the left pane click Fax History.

Re: Officejet Pro 8600 Plus - Viewing Fax History Content

I am able to display a "list" of the faxes made.  On my old printer, I had the option "view" the actual fax in .pdf document.  I click on the fax I want to view nothing happens.  I might add, I initiated the fax on my PC.  I created a cover page and scanned the page I wanted to using the "Send a Fax" option from the menu you suggested.

I also went to the printer and queried the "print from fax memory" and there was no record of the fax in the printer's memory.

There must be some way to "record" every fax that I send off the printer. This capability is very helpful.  In case in point, the fax in question that I sent, the receipent claims they never received my fax. All I can show is that fax was sent with a result of an "OK".  If I wanted to re-send the fax, I would have to start from scratch again to send the fax.

I'm sure there is way to keep an electronic log of the faxes processed by the printer.  I don't know how to set the printer up to do it.  My old printer, that was just part of fax function.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

It is important to have a record of all faxes, the same as a record of all e-mails.

How do I retrieve a record of faxes sentand received

I am at the screen with the fax options.
Double-clicking on them results in no action by the software.
