Its hard to believe that this problem continues to survive...

I have been using this printer almost every day without giving it 24 hours to rest, I have not had a recurrance of this issue.

Ah yes. It lives for as long as the printer is around and whilst it still prints I will keep it around but its strange that not even a whisper about a firmware upgrade. BTW it locked up on me just now.

I know HP read this because I got "moderated" in a previous post ...

A command line login ...

A patch ...

A workaround ...

A bone ...

I second that.  Have to power down and back up right before using the copy/scan/fax functions or it just locks up.  What a poor design and even poorer support.

I've had some success with first selecting copy on the display, then settings and selecting  to copy one sided document before I hit the copy buttons.  SOMETIMES this works.

Sure wish HP would address this.  I have always used HP printers.  Don't think I would buy another one.

As I explained earlier, I let HP replace my unit - it has been working fine ever since.  I will tell you that I now use this printer every day, so it never sits more then 48 hours without use.

By the way, I use the "Fast Draft" resolution settings unless I need a true photo or business quality document... it really does save on ink.

Mine is long out of warranty and I won't pay twice for this printer.  I would gladly keep my firmware updated if there was any firmware update available, which there is not.
