Retrieving scanning photo at my desktop

Using the web procedure typing the IP address on the browser, I do a scanning and preview but I don't know how to retrieve that file in my desktop. If I try the solution center, and hit the scan button and it give an error, I have and all in one hp7780 I havent been able to scan either way. I can print from my desktop, but no luck with scanning,

Once you see the scanned document open up in a new scan window, then just right-click on the image and select 'Save Image As..' or any option similar to that, i.e. saving the picture.

We have a officeject 6500, I can't get a scanned photo to open up.  Do I need a installed program to open.

I have an HP Officejet 6310 All-in-one printer/copier. How can I scan or copy a picture or document from this apparatus to "Word Perfect?"
