Scan with Officejet 6500 using Webscan in Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Does anyone know where a file created by a scan created by the Webscan application in EWS go to on the hard drive, and/or  what file name I should look for.  The process seems to work when scanning using this system but after the scan is complete, the file created disappears.

No answer yet.  Interesting that HP has a very nice video instructing how to use this Webscan function, but nowhere do they tell you where to find the result of the scan.

If you guys have figured out the location for the scanned files, please let me know. I am in the same boat. This is soooo ridiculous!

Thanks,

Re: Scan with Officejet 6500 using Webscan in Embedded Web Server (EWS)

I have the same question, but I do NOT think the "teacher" reply to a similar question is correct.

It seems to me that the scanned image is stored in the printer memory. The only way I have found to SAVE it on my computer is to RIGHT CLICK on the image once the window opens showing the scanned image and select SAVE IMAGE AS. When you do this, you can type the folder path on your own computer along with a name other than IMAGE1.jpg and it will be saved on our computer.

Re: Scan with Officejet 6500 using Webscan in Embedded Web Server (EWS)

I figured it out!  first - it's a bit difficult to understand this fellow - but if you watch him you'll see how it makes it work in this short video - after watching the video I realized I had on a pop up blocker that was not allowing the document to be seen.

Hope that helps...

here's the video...

I saw the same video weeks ago, but the guy doesn't say how to save the document. How are you saving the document that shows up in the pop up screen?

thx.

Re: Scan with Officejet 6500 using Webscan in Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Did you guys find out anything?

I am using a MacBook Pro and HP Wireless 6500.

I have used Webscan.

Put the document on the glass of the scanner, go to the IP, click on Webscan, select Image Type, click on Scan, click on OK, click on Preview if the image isn't showing, right-click (PC) or Control click (Mac) on image, select Save Image As and then pick destination. I usually rename file to .TIF or .JPG when done.

Hope this helps.

Yes, I can't believe this is the proper way to save a scanned image, but I found this out a few months ago as well. RIGHT CLICK (PC) and select SAVE IMAGE AS and go from there. Thanks for checking in.
