ScanJet 4200C installation probem

Had scanner installed on pc with XP Professional, bought new pc with Vista. HP don't provide driver for this scanner for Vista. Tried to connect scanner to laptop with XP Professional after installing driver software HP PrecisionScan LT. Scanner is listed in Device Manager, however PrecisionScan says "Cannot find your scanner. You may have a scanner connected to your computer but HPPSLT was unable to locate it". I went through Troubleshooting, still no luck.

 

The Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard states "The computer cannot detect the scanner or camera. Please make sure the device is turned on and is properly connected to the computer".  In the Add Hardware wizard, it states "The device is working properly".

 

All power and USB connections are working correctly, can't see what is wrong, can anyone help please?
