Hi
Printing function works fine but scanner / copy function only intermittantly. Have tried advice as set out in HP troubleshooting guide: plugged in to wall directly, reset etc but problem persists. The light comes on and it passes across the glass but stops on the left with a sickening thud, then I get the failure message. Sometimes the failure message comes on when I open the cover to commence scanning. Is there a sensor in the scanning light which is malfunctioning? It is an intermittant problem which used to occur occasionally, but now occurs most of the time. Is it hardware or software related? Product out of warranty sadly.
Thanks

Thanks but, been there, done that and none of it worked for me. Unit is plugged directly into wall socket, light comes on OK but unit freezes just as it starts to scan or copy, or just after it scans or copies if I am lucky.
