I can copy off the pc, but I am getting scanner failure,cannot copy or scan from printer!

It's difficult to assess your problem when you do not mention the model number.
Have you installed the full version of the software, and read the manual?

d135 shows scanner failure and will not turn printer

Have a HP photosmart C5240 All-In-One, will print from lap-top but will not scan or print from itself.
