HP Laserjet All in One M225
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi Support,

We have the following devices :-

HP Laserjet All-in-one M225 printer

HP 1820-48G-PoE+

Dell SonicWall TZ300

Windows 7 desktop computer

We managed to install the printer on the PC by using the IP address of the printer. The auto-scan for HP devices on the network did not work.  The computer and printer are on different VLANs and on different subnets. VLANs are configured on the HP 1820 switch. The subnets and DHCP is configured on the SonicWall. On the firewall we have already any-to-any rule between the Printer and the PC.

The problem is we can print but we cannot use the scanner. The error is Scanner unreachable.

But if we move the printer to the same VLANs (thus the same subnet) as the PC, the printer and scanning works.

Please advice. Thank you

Since this involves VLANS, suggest you contact your IT department as this is their responsibility.
