Scanner not working on 6210

Hello,

I have the HP officejet 6210 and have never used the scanner but use it as a printer. Tonight I wanted to scan a photo, and I push the scan button on the printer and got an error message saying "no scan options, I need to run or install device software. I am unable to find the disc, and use the printer already. Is there a special download that I need to get on this computer? Can someone walk me through what I need to download and how to scan a photo so I can put the photo on my website?

 Chose the appropriate operating system and then download and save the FULL FEATURE SOFTWARE provide on the site.

Note: You need to save it to your computer first before installing it.

The printer works but the scanner does not show anywhere in the system.

Scanner does not work. Everybody has the same wrong answers on HP Microsoft and Google.

Should I just throw the thin in the trash?

I've been using the scanner feature on the HP 6210 for years. Today, when I try to use it, I get an error message and it says "Device not ready." It still prints OK.

What OS are you working with?  How is the printer connected?  Which product line is it from, PhotoSmart, OfficeJet, DeskJet, or LaserJet?
