Scanner problems linked to Short Cuts!

I'm not sure if it's related to any of the many scanner problems on this post, but I couldn't alter my scanner settings or scan through HP software; I had to use the MS Wizard...  HP Cust Service was HUGE a waste of time over several days and chats.

 

I found another frustrated user on the web who had a post on her website...  www.absoluteanime.com/admin/updates_2006-04.htm  It seems HP has a problem with "short cuts" being put into the START MENUS, and its software won't work!!!!
