Printer name: hp psc 1350 all-in-one
Hi, this has been happening since I reinstalled the operating system with a OEM disc, deleting all the hp stuff. I got a new OEM disc that is from hp (I think..well some stuff from hp works now) but the scan button still doesn't work. The old disc was kind broken.
I don't mind it, but it will be helpful if this could be fixed. Don't want to do anything big, I'd rather just not fix this than make something else not work.
Note: Scanning works, but I have to scan somewhere else (ex. opening scan in control panel)

Hi,
After reinstalling the OS, did you installed the full feature software for the printer?
Can you access the HP Director software?

Everything else works fine except this problem and the chrome pdf problem (chrome pdf problem = I'll post another thread about it..ignore it)
HP director software? Where is it?

Ok, that explain why the scan button doesn't work.
The Full Software is necessary for the scan button to operate, it is no a functionality of the basic software.
Make sure to follow the steps below in order to get is torted:
- Unplug the USB from the printer.
- From the start menu, enter the HP Folder. and follow the Uninstall link to remove the current software.
- If you can't find it there, enter Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and remove any installed HP PSC 1300 Series Software.
- Download and install the Full Feature below:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software10/COL8901/mp-23606-3/gc_w01_ENU_NB.exe - You will find the HP Director as part of the HP Software. If you have any issues using it, make sure to install the following patch:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software8/COL17377/oj-46104-1/CIT207355-HPCOM-PATCH-v8.exe

Shlomi

Still doesn't work for some reason o.0?
Think the installation worked well, or not since I had some programs open (just browser, registering for something..not anything big) and it never notified me when it was done, it just closed by itself so I was guessing it was done.
Whenever I press the scan button, the power button on printer flashes, and when I click the power button the printer turns off. Do I have to do something else?
Notes: the patch saids update not needed,
don't know if it flashed before..but I don't remember seeing it flashing after clicking the scan button, usually don't check that I check the monitor xD

Hello -xKevin-
Did the Full Feature Software install HP Director or HP Solution Center? If you do not see an icon on your Desktop check the HP folder located in your program folder. There should be settings you can change in relation to the button.
You may also want to try downloading the HP Scan Diagnostic Utility.

I recently formatted my PC, since something messed it up again. But the scan button works now
The only problem is that it scans differently than the way I'm used to. It uses ImageZone, and don't know where it saves the image :/ Tried changing the settings on director, dosen't really work.
How do I change this? I want it to scan to a image file, not in some program.

Hello -xKevin-
Glad to hear you scan use your scan button now. ![]()
Have you checked My Pictures or My Documents? Those two directories would seem to be the most likely default directory of Scans.
What was the previous way you would scan and why happens when you try it that way?
