- How Do I Set up the scan profile when the Scan Profile box is blanked out? Further, it will only show me "Front Panel Button" but nothing for "Solution Center Button".

Hi KirbE,
Update you Adobe flash player, and let me know if you still have blanked out spots in Solution Center?

Nope, it didn't change anything.
I also have to hand insert my paper to get it to print on both sides properly. It won't automatically print on both sides for side paging, only for up paging. It worked just fine in XP, but has been a real nuisance trying to get all these functions and trying to get it to print correctly in VISTA.. :-) I searched through this forum and found only failed resolution suggestions. Is there any hope?
This is the drivers I downloaded and am using in this laptop VISTA OS: AIO_CDB_FULL_Network_enu_DB.exe. Is there something wrong with this driver package, or what?

Hi KirbE,
Try using the scrubber built into the CD or Download.
From Original installation CD:
1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer
2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open
3. Open folder Util
4. Open folder CCC
5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe
6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
8. Download the full feature software and drivers
9. Run the download to reinstall the printer
If software was downloaded and extracted to your system:
1. Type %temp% in the run field
2. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
3. Open folder Util
4. Open folder CCC
5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe
6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
8. Download the full feature software and drivers
9. Run the download to reinstall the printer

I sincerely do appreciate your efforts here, very much; but:
Okay, now in the printer setup "General Everyday Printing" tab I've set "print both sides" to "Automatic" but it does it manually, doesn't do it automatically. And it does the same thing with trying to set it with different documents from different writers/processors. When I set it to "Automatically" before we did this last re-install it would print both sides automatically but the second page upside down and so thereafter. Also, the "Print Profile" is still blanked out in "Set Print Profile" in the solution center. Further, "Page Number" field and "Page Count" field doesn't do either in multipage documents; they remain blank. HP 7310 All-in-One machines just don't work correctly in VISTA Home Edition. Isn't that right?

Hi KirbE,
Sorry to hear you are having such issues. It sounds like the operating system might be contributing to the install issue. To help isolate the issue, I would be curious to see if you have the same issue on a different computer.
Can you install the printer on a different computer, and let me know if you see the same issues?

I'll see if I can arrange such a thing. I only have this one. Mayber one of my friends will let me try it on their VISTA machines. We'll see, then I'll let you know. In the mean time I'm going to be gone for almost a week; won't be working on this for a while. See you later. ![]()
