Hi 9111992911

There are 2 excellent solutions to your issue . Unfortunately , each one requires it's own specific and essential condition . Here is a translation in english of my answer to Micvaute about the same issue :

solution n° 1 :

You are running a version of Windows 7 higher than Home ( vital ) :

Download and install the virtual XP mode from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

It's free and so easy to install ;

solution n° 2 :

Your OS is Windows 7 Home .

You need to use a XP install disc with a genuine key ( vital )

Download and install VmWare Player from

http://www.filehippo.com/download_vmware_player/

Just as easy to install and run

Otherwise , you will need to purchase a new w7 compatible unit ( starting from 100 euros or dollars ) . That' s what you probably already have done .

Best regards ,

Fanaudi .

I have in on of the foreign language WIN 7 installations that there is a link allowing to install old programs or .dll's so that you can use your hardware. I have not yet tried it but I've been in some occasions told that it works! Any insight?

Hi sel50

We are here talking about a missing driver . Any attempt to run Sc 4470c with any HP' s previous to W7 64-bit -driver will fail . I have also tried VueScan ( trial version ) from http://www.hamrick.com/ and , in spite of what they

pretend , it didn't work either .

Best regards ,

I use HP Scanjet 4470c with WIN 7, try to use HP Precisionscan Pro 3.1 Installer Information, and get: "Error 1904 Module .... hpgwiamd.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147024770. Contact your support personnel." Can you help me to fix it? Thanks, Joel

Hi Joel 12 ,

This issue is generally due to missing or corrupted files and several workarounds sometimes solve tthe problem .

Here are examples , unfortunately not related to Precision Scan Pro but well to similar situations :

http://www.realgeek.com/forums/error-1904-failed-to-register-dll-files-hresult-2147220473-a-355530.h...

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/279223

In your case , you probably get the message " error 1904 ... " just simply because there is no W7 compatible driver for your unit . You can find workarounds to your issue in my previous posts .

Best regards ,

fanaudi .

Hi Dukato.1 ,

Unfortunately , there is no driver available under Windows 7 to run your unit . HP does not support this hardware beyond W XP .

The only way to work around this issue , as far as I know , is to use one of the two following methods .

Unfortunately , each one requires it's own specific and essential condition .

solution n° 1 :

You are running a version of Windows 7 higher than Home ( vital ) :

Download and install the virtual XP mode from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx
