Windows7 x 64, OfficeJet 6310xi, Can't Save Scan

I'm using the latest HP Solution Center software (130.*).  I downloaded it on Thursday from the HP Support site.   I am unable to save anything that I scan.

The OfficeJet is connected to my PC via the Ethernet port.  I see it do a scan preview.  When I click finish, it says it is saving the document.  However, no document is ever saved.  When I look in the event log I see the following:

Faulting application name: hpqdstcp.exe, version: 13.0.0.131, time stamp: 0x4a0c08ac

Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5bdb3b

Exception code: 0xc0000005

Fault offset: 0x00032f15

Faulting process id: 0x1568

Faulting application start time: 0x01ca55a13383040a

Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\Digital Imaging\Bin\hpqdstcp.exe

Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ntdll.dll

Report Id: 72859a6b-c194-11de-bffb-0023ae560df6

What do I need to do to get this to work?  The Windows 7 Fax and Scan Wizard works just fine.

Thanks

Marc

Re: Windows7 x 64, OfficeJet 6310xi, Can't Save Scan

I am experiencing exactly the same problem, except I am using a Officejet 6310 and 32bit Windows 7 RTM.

Any help would be greatfully received.

Re: Windows7 x 64, OfficeJet 6310xi, Can't Save Scan

This is a problem with how the file is being saved?  Are you doing OCR?  Can you run and save a file using hpiscnapp.exe? It is normally located in c:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin

I work for HP, but these words are mine alone.

Re: Windows7 x 64, OfficeJet 6310xi, Can't Save Scan

I will try the hpiscnapp.exe later tonight, when I get home.  As for the other questions.

1) Not doing OCR.

2) Tried to save the scan as an image (JPG/TIF) and as a PDF.

Re: Windows7 x 64, OfficeJet 6310xi, Can't Save Scan

Thanks for the suggestions.

I am scanning a document to be turned into a pdf. It worked using the suggestion but I could not use the autofeeder and had to put each page on the screen. Also interestingly it created a new file in my documents called MyScans (no space) where it saved the PDF.

Tried it again using the solution centre but the scan did not save.

Any more suggestions.

Thanks

Re: Windows7 x 64, OfficeJet 6310xi, Can't Save Scan

WS,

If you are running hpiscnapp.exe, you need select 'scan using adf' from the scan menu.  The default behavior will to be 'scan from glass.'

Re: Windows7 x 64, OfficeJet 6310xi, Can't Save Scan

[ Edited ]

Hi

I am using Windows 7 (32bit) with my networked Officejet 6310

I have downloaded the latest HP Software for Windows 7 (AIO_CDB_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_141.exe), and I cannot save any scans, even though the program tells me where it is saving to. This applies whether I scan them using the document feeder, or on the glass. No new scan files appear at any location. Even when I specify another location nothing is saved. I have tried the file "hpiscnapp.exe" and the scanner tells me to press "Start Scan". When I  press the button, it returns to its quiescent state.

I tried "scan to", and it seems to work, until it tells me it is scanning, then tells me it cannot connect to the computer.

I have reconnected the 6310 via USB, and it still will not save.

I would be very grateful for any advice as soon as possible, as I have a lot of legal documents to scan.

Regards

Richard

I downloaded AIO_CDB_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_141 for Window 7 Home Premium 32 bit and cannot scan either. I have an Officejet 6310xi and it is connected via USB. When I start the scanner I see the HP Scanning screen start but it hangs after that. The screen will not go away and I need to log out to be able to use the scanner again. Windows Fax and Scan works fine but I really need to be able to scan to PDF.
