after sending a fax all of my incoming calls are going to the fax machine. Cannot figure out how to switch phone service back to house phones. Looked all thru manual, only thing i found is the "Auto answer" button on fax machine which I pressed, it is not lit up. My husband used to come to the computer and set something to make them work again, but he passed away last month and never showed me what it was before he passed. I got one phone to work by plugging it directly into the modem, but no other phone in house has a dialtone.

Hey,
I have the same issue, same machine.
After a power break, all my incoming calls go directly to the fax, 2 rings, if i don't awnser fax will take it.
I have no idea how to solve this problem... Help would be appreciated.
Also, calling does not work, unless i add an extra 0 infront of the phone number. (Europe)
Thanks in advance

Before I get started trying to help you, I need to verify that I'm looking at the steps for the right printer. You are having a problem with the Officejet 6500a Plus E709n, correct?

Hello digs24,
I understand you have the Officejet 8600 but there are actually three versions of the OJ 8600. Please verify if you have the 8600 (N911a), 8600 Plus (N911g), or the 8600 Premium (N911n). Also please specify in a little more detail what the exact problem is you are having and I will happily assist you.
I will need to know a few more things but answer the most important two for now - what is the exact model of printer and what exactly is happening?
