get only lines when copying

I have an Officejetpro 8500A #A910n.  When I try to copy all I get is a page completely filed with lines.  I have unplugged the machine and waited  and tried again and still only get a page of lines.

Try cleaning the rollers with a lint free cloth on the AUTOMATIC DOCUMENT FEEDER

or

if you are trying to scan through the scanner bed try cleaning the scanner bed and then check

Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking all this from my own experience and not for HP

I have a Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.  Brand new.  When I print it prints fine.  When I copy from the glass in color it prints fine.  But when I copy in Black & White, I get a page filled with lines.  Help!

I get those same lines on both color and black and white when copying.  Finally talked to a HP help person and since it was under warranty they are sending us a new one and we will send the old one back.  Thank goodness!
