My HP 8500a Plus all in one has been working beautifully since I purchased it. Last week it stopped printing my documents. I can send faxes, and it will receive faxes. It says "printing page 1" and just hangs there and does nothing. When I try to copy from it it does the same thing. It says "now copying page 1/1" and just hangs there. I also can't print to it. Recognizes the print job but hangs up and won't print it. I have tried restoring to factory settings, unplugging it and waiting etc etc. Can someone help?!

Hi jnfr73,
Remove all the cables from the printer, and unplug the unit for 1 to 2 minutes. When you plug it back in make sure that the power is connected directly to the wall outlet. Let me know if you can make a standalone copy from the printer?

I just did that. It still won't print. I can't make copies or receive faxes. I just replaced my ink cartridges. Could that be it? They were new HP cartridges.

Hi jnfr73,
If you still have the old cartridge put them back in and see if the printer starts working again.
What happens if you try printing from a different computer?
Can you print the self test page from the printer?
Print a self-test report from the control panel
- Load letter or A4, unused, plain white paper into the product input tray.
- Press the Power button (
) to turn on the product. - On the product touch screen, touch the Right Arrow (
) to display the second navigation screen. - Touch Setup (
) on the control panel display. The Setup Menu displays. - Touch the Down Arrow (
), and then touch Reports . - Touch Printer Status Report . The self-test report prints.
