hp solution center is not working and i can't download it despite numerous tries

my hp solution center is not working, I cannot scan and I have tried several times to download a driver but it won't work.  i a very frustrated with this and need someone to please fix it

I have the same problem. It suddenly stopped working; the icon became blank; when i try to download new software from the website it does not install

So mine was working for a good year.. then it just stopped. When I run HP Solution Center a message comes up telling me that it has not completed installation yet. When I go to control panel to try and uninstall it - it won't work. When I go to download and install again - it errors out after a lengthy attempt to install. It runs an install error utility and then that doesn't work either. It would seem that someone pushed down an update and didn't bother to test it. This thing is just stuck.

Do you receive any specific errors or numeric codes? Sounds like it could be a MSI Fatal Error.

When I click to open the HP solution center I get a pop up with the following message:

"HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete."

Of course, it has been installed and working for a year so this makes no sense.

Try the following procedure to uninstall the printer software. It will remove all HP Printer software so that you should be able to re-install just fine. Let me know if you have any trouble.

From Original installation CD:

1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer

2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open

3. Open folder Util

4. Open folder CCC

5. Run the L4uninstall.bat

6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools

8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

9. Download the full feature software and drivers

10. Run the download to reinstall the printer

If software was downloaded and extracted to your system:

1. Type %temp% in the run field

2. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)

3. Open folder Util

4. Open folder CCC

6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools

8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

I have had this identical problem with my Photosmart C6380 all-in-one printer and have gone round and round in circles trying to fix it. About a month ago I upgraded from Vista to Win 7 Professional on my PC and reinstalled the latest complete latest software and drivers for my printer from the HP website. I have the same software installed on my laptop running under Win 7 Home Premium.  Until two days ago everything worked fine until I tried to scan a document to my PC. I received an error message on the printer display saying this had failed and directing me to do it from my desktop. To do this of course I have to load HP Solution Center but it would not load saying the installation had not fully loaded. I searched for an answer to this which was to uninstall and reinstall the HP software which I did on I've lost count of how many times, most of them, when the installation succeeded enabling the printer but not the Solution Center and so no scanning. I've tried the various HP diagnostics and none succeed in me obtaining a full driver and software download and none with a working Solution Center. The last attempt following this advice resulted in no Solution Center and no Photosmart Essentials.

What next?

Retired defeated and frustrated!!

Have you tried the suggestions and steps I have provided above?

Also there was a patch that is supposed to be used when upgrading from Vista to WIndows 7. It may not work unless the Vista software is installed while the patch is run.

Hi,
Yours was the last thing I tried resulting as I said resulted in no Solution Center and no Photosmart Essentials.
When I said I upgraded from Vista what I meant was I did a clean install of Win 7 to replace Vista which is no longer present on my PC. So presumably I do not need that fix?
I'll now look at your workaround link but I regarded the Solution Center as being an iinrtegral and essential part of the product support. Photosmart Essentials I am not tgoo bothered about as I don't tend to use it anyway relying on other software.
