I upgraded recently to Mac OS X Mountain Lion. I had a scanner from another company that wasn't compatible with this operating system, so I saw on apple.com on a list which scanners from every company were compatible with this (There's a list in HP site, too >>> http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/D
I saw that G3110 by HP was compatible so I spend 85,00 euros buying this.
I came home and spend hours on trying to install it. All the info here >>> http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/D
Please help in order to get the HP scanner work properly...

Did you installed the latest 10.6 software available at the HP site or used the original CD?

I'm basically having the exact same problems right now. Was on 10.7.5 with HP Scan working no problem with my G3110 and then made the mistake of upgrading the software. The scanner could be seen by the computer (shows up in the USB bus in System Profiler) and is recognized by and functioning within Image Capture. That's fine, but I'd prefer to have HP Scan back since it does a much better job of batch processing. I installed Mountain Lion on the computer and then tried to upgrade the HP software as the website guides you to. Still can't get HP Installer to see the scanner (although the 10.6 full software sees it on startup but won't connect when you press "SCAN" in the software).
So I've done any of a number of things, from reinstalling 10.6 full version, then the 10.7 patch, then the 1.2.0 ICA update, and then the HP_Mountain_Lion_Ink_SW_v12.23.14 software, including trying to eliminate some of those on the way. Unfortunately it just won't see the scanner in the new update.
