When I upgraded my psc 1350 three in one printer driver I lost ocr capability. I have installed readirispro 11 on my g4 power pc mac running osx 10.5 but the scanner does not recognize it, telling me that ocr support has not been installed. The readiris website mentioned something about twain but I don't know how to find out whether that relates to my problem and if I can use this software with this printer.

twain is an old defacto "standard" scan iterterface/encapsolation layer, in another words, twain capable apps can "aquire" images from any twain supported scanners. For example, from readiris, you should be able to run "aquire" or maybe "import" image and you are prompted to select a scanner from a list, one of them should be psc 1350, follow the onscreen instruction to finish the scan (preview, select area, etc.)
