no scan to my laptop

After uninstalling my software and reloading it several times, reloading drivers, etc. etc. I still get this error message-my computer is not listed as an available computer on the printers control board. Its a deskjet 3054 j610.Got it hooked direct with a USB. I had another one of these printers hooked up to the same laptop last year and it worked fine. The only thing I've changed is an updated security package from webroot [the original product in my gateway from best buy].
