officejet pro 8500a scanning problem with xp pro, loses network connection? Requires a reboot of my desktop - Prints fine, but scan function just disappears. If I spend much more time with this - the printer is going in the trash. Cost vs value... HP will never be my choice again. I have talked to my computer service company and he said that this is happening all over - no clear answer. HP is going to lose big time. Get a fix or answer soon.
