I have a psc 1350 running on windows vista.
I had the 'check print cartridges error' occur on my printer.
Both cartridges were old Sooo --
I have just changed BOTH print cartridges.
The replacement cartridges are certified HP brand 57/58 photo series.
I purchased the photo series because that was the only option at my local Walmart store.
When the printer is turned on a alignment sheet prints.
The alignment sheet looks perfect according to the illustration on HP's website.
When I place the alignment sheet on the scanner (properly) & push the scan button.
NOTHING HAPPENS. The printer does not scan the alignment sheet.
Turning off / back on just prints another alignment sheet -- because the scan isn't being done.
Could there be a problem with the new cartridges I just bought?
OR
Could the problem be with the scan button?
During this entire replacement process - the "E" and "check print cartridge" lights have remained on.
I am so confused. This is an old printer -- thought about just buying a new one.
BUT, I've just spent $50+ for the new cartridges so I really rather work with what I have IF there's a solution.
