psc 2410xi reads "No Scan Options"

Hi,

I wondered if someone could help here, as I've wandered the HP support site and this forum without finding an answer.  I have a PSC 2410xi photosmart all-in-one (had it for probably 5 years now).  I have never used the scanner, but would like to.  When I hit the scan button, I get the message - No Scan Options - then it reads further . . . Scan options are not set.  Install or dun device software on the computer.  Press OK to continue.

So, needless to say, I can't find the original software CD, so I'm trying to find where I can download it as it would appear that I just need the software to install.  In my haste initially, I probably never installed it.

Couldn't find the answer on the forum? Hmm... strange. I'm sure i saw a thread with the same issue on a different printer, but the solution was there, and it would pretty much apply to your printer also. Anyways...

You can download the software and drivers for your printer from HERE. Once you install the software completely. you should be able to scan from the Scan button. Don't forget to unplug the USB cable BEFORE starting the installation.

Thanks DexterM - I'm just getting to this now.  But, still, no dice.  I downloaded the full software version (the 364M version) and it said that a more current version of the software was already installed.  go figure.  so, still . . . no scanning here.  any other thoughts?
