"Send a fax" option totally gone after reloading the software?

Running Windows XP Professional.

I had to reload the HP all in one printer, however the "send a fax" option does not appear in the settings.

I removed the program and re installed it. Still no fax option. It was there before I had to restore my comp. Any suggestions?

Ideas? I used it several times daily and am now lost without it.

Hi,

In order to provide you any ossible information, it will help to know which printer model is it.

In the meantime, please try the following:

1. Insert the installation CD.
2. Enter My Computer.
3. Right click the CD Driver and select Browse.
4. Enter the Setup folder.
5. Enter the Fax folder.
6. You will find an MSI file within this folder, you may identify it by its icon which seems different than the others ().
7. Right click above it and select Repair.
8. Allow the installtion screen to finish, reboot your PC and check for any change.

HI! Thank you so much for responding so quickly. This printer is HP Photosmart C3180 All In One.
I tried your solution twice with no success of installing the fax driver.
Do I need to remove it and then re-install again?

Hi sm,

I affraid there might be some confusion in here.

As you may find by the Photosmart C3180 specification, the specific product provide only Print, Copy and Scan capabilities:

The C3180 should not provide any Fax software as the hardware does not offer any fax capabilities.
