i have a hp photosmart c8180 all in one which used to work ok with my advent 9517 laptop pc running windows vista. i am now using windows 7 on the same pc and have installed hp's software/drivers for this os, and now i cannot scan films or docs using hp solution center.

Hello plcpete
Did you install the Windows 7 driver from the CD or did you download it? Do you receive any errors when trying to scan? If so please list the error in you next post. When you switched to Windows 7 did you upgrade or do a new Install?

yes it was a new install as i had fitted a new hard drive and new windows7 operating system. i then tried installing from the hp disc that came with my oin which directed me to hp to install the upgraded drivers. the extended error information shows as: 4,[(0,2,80004005),(3,22,0)] i hope this is of some help

Hello plcpete
I would suggest uninstalling the software and trying to re-install using the driver from the link below. The CD may not have the proper driver for Windows 7.
