I am so disgusted with HP, I am ready to buy another brand of printer. I upgraded my computer from an XP to Window 7 and found out my previous HP printer/scanner/fax wasn't compatable. I went out and upgraded my printer/scanner/fax, just to find out that this one won't scan. Who wants something that doesn't work 100%. I have gone through all the help pages I can find and still no scanner. I guess it is time to move to another brand.

If you want help in the forum please read this post then provide some details. What printer model? What operating system? How is the printer connected - USB, wired LAN, Wireless LAN, bluetooth? Are there any error messages on the printer or computer screen? Do you have a 32 bit or 64 bit version?

I have a 64 bit version with a USB cable
The error message says "The HP scanning appliation is currently in use or unavailable. Close all open programs and try scanning again. 8,[(8, 101, 0)]. It used to work and now it stopped.
