Same problem with my laptop and HP tech told me that they had never heard of there being a problem. Of course they had an idea of how to fix it for $400. Why isn't there a class action lawsuit against HP for these overheating pieces of junk as the problem is not just the video chip if it happens to several different kinds?

I think its just sad that everyone is having these issues and they have hundreds of comments about the "black screen of death" yet obviously HP doesnt care about their customers and the crappy products they are selling. I guess I got lucky that mine lasted about 3 1/2 years before it died. I was thinking about buying a "cheapie" HP to replace my HP paperweight but I think Im going to get a MAC and stick it to them where it hurts, their bank account. They need to remember that few people will relate a positive experience but if people have a bad one, they will share it with EVERYONE. HP is not doing themselves any favors by ignoring their customers and not trying to fix the issues with their products.
