Finding the fingerprin t reader on the TouchSmart tm2 models

If you bought one of these new tablets you may have ordered it with or without the Fingerprint Reader, that was an option on the CTO website.
If you did order it is not located in the same place as it was on the older TX2 series.
The fingerprint reader is located on the right edge of the display when the unit is in Notebook Orientation with the keyboard accessible.
The location can also be found on the Quick setup poster that ships with the unit.
You can also view the User Guide that ships on the unit:
Click “Start” then ”Help and Support” then choose “User Guides” open to “Features” then “Components” and click on “Right side components”
This will show the location of the fingerprint reader.

I have been trying to enroll my fingerprint, but no matter how i swipe my finger accorss it keeps saying "unsuccessfull" . My pc does have the fingerprint device, I tried reisntaling driver, reinstalling software, updating driver . I have no idea what to do at this point ! Any suggestions ?

Try cleaning the sensor itself? The are VERY easy to get dirty and over time oils from the fingers will cause it to stop functioning and you will need to clean it.

Thank you for this! I just got my TouchSmart today and have been searching ALL OVER for the scanner. This was very helpful! I now have it located and set up.
