HP touchsmart tx2 software

 The Touchsmart PCs are supposed to come with a set of software applications like "canvas" and a music organizer and an image organizer all designed for touch screen usage correct? i dont think i have this... or perhaps i'm not seeing it? could someone help me find it or tell me where i could download it please and thankyou

Not sure what you're referring to here but my TX2 came with Micorsoft Paint (is that what you mean by canvas software?) and HP Media Smart which amoung other things allows you to organize music.  MediaSmart can be launched with a touchscreen gesture (move two fingers across the screen in a wave pattern).

From what I have found on the web, the MediaSmart software on the desktops is more advanced than what comes on the TX.

On the TX it is normaly found under "Start, Programs, HP, HP Media Smart", you can download it from the Software and Drivers page if it is not installed.

That said, the software that comes on the TX is a total waste of time. It is bloated and unresponsive to gestures. The music software for instance cant handle libraries bigger than a 100 CDs without dropping cover images. It is also very limited in configuration and versatility and certainly seems like a 1.0 product.

EXCEPT, you CANNOT get it if you purchased your touchsmart tx2 prior to the windows 7 release. I purchased one month before, and thought they would be on the HP upgrade disk. I was wrong.

When I contacted Customer service I was told:

" I want to inform you that this "Touchsmart 3.0 application" is bundled along with the Windows 7 operating system preinstalled on the computer release after 22/10/2009.

I regret to inform you that  "Touchsmart 3.0 application" is Not available for download."

can you please download touchsmart updates from IQ series touchsmarts?  http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=4062&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us〈=en&product=3762887  I'm interested to see if it will work or throw error like it is not compatible system. I am looking to buy tx2 with Vista on it and would love to know if i can update to latest touchsmart apps once I install win 7.

There is nothing compelling enough in that list of apps to have me risk messing up my clean Win7 install.
