Since yesterday, when i installed the automatic windows updates, my fingerprint reader stopped working. I notice a lot of other people have had the same problem, but no one with the same computer model as me yet; I have tried to uninstall both digitalpersona and the authentic drivers and reinstall them, but it doesnt seem to work. Anyone help me please?

Richardtan2003,
Did this problem get fixed? Did you look in the device manager? Are there any yellow exclamation marks or question marks there?
Wes
I am an HP employee.

Hi Wes,
Under Biometric devices, which is what i assume to be the fingerprint reader, it says the device is working properly, when i open up AuthenTec Inc. AES1610 properties, there are no yellow exclamation marks or question marks, but whenever i startup the computer, it says fingerprint reader is not detected. This error message also comes up when i open digitalPersona, "The fingerprint reader is not connected. Connect the reader" I only noticed this problem immediately after a windows update a few weeks ago, so i assume thats what has caused it? uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it seems to have no effect, so i don't know what i can do =/ Thanks for your attention..
Richard

i have the tx2z-1000 and just upgraded to Windows 7 Pro.
first the camera was going undetected. fixed it by removing YouCam and going with another program
now its my fingerprint reader. ive downloaded the drivers, and digital persona is installed successfully yet its saying the fingerprint reader is not connected. ![]()

If your tx2 fingerprint scanner on your windows 7 machine stoped working for no reason, your drivers may have been updated by either windows update or HP update. No worries an easy fix to this is to go to your HP driver page and download the old VISTA drivers for your machines respective OS system (32bit or 62bit) the vesion of the drivers shuld be (version 7.10.1.2).
make sure you properly uninstall the current drivers and don't let windows update them again.
Thant is all,
enjoy!
