Yes, go ahead and uninstall everything. After this is done, reboot the Notebook and install latest one from above link

i already uninstall ATI Catalyst and reboot and installed it again via the link you gave, last night and this morning same thing happen again, but this time its not hanging like before and cant do anything. now it just went off but the power button is still on but cannot do anything but to force shut down by pressing start button 5 seconds.
im sorry to bother you sir, but i hope you still have solutions for this problem. thanks
i envy those who bought a new pc and are enjoying and satisfied in buying. until this is fix i think i coudnt rely on it since it just often turn off. hoping you could figure out whats wrong with it. thanks

Turn OFF the Notebook and once its powered ON, keep Pressing F10 to load BIOS screen of the Notebook. In this screen check if same problem happens.
if it does , it could be a video card or a LCD related issue else some software issue where you may have to reimage the Notebook back to factory condition and see if that resolves your problem.

hello been busy with work, sorry if i havent got back recently, i also havent been using my NEW notebook since my last post. when i open it last night and chatted with my family, it went to black screen again, power is on, wifi light is in amber and the camera light is still on, but i couldnt access any of the keys. it happened twice with in 2 hours.
im actually not a computer wiz guy and i only know how to run it and use it, but troubleshooting wise, im not good at it. could you please kindly provide a step by step ways on how to restart it the way it was when i bought it. i followed sir Kamat_hp's porcedure but did not know on how to do it or i was just afraid to touch something in that mode and worsen the problem.
Thanks guys i know youve been trying to help out. really appreciate all the help. i admit, i wasnt satisfied and very disappointed in buying this HP notebook and experience a lot since i used it. but having you guys at the forum definitely makes the difference. Thank in advance.
I have been reading post on switcheable graphics... from dynamic to Fixed mode (ATI/radeon only) will these option solve my problem?

Hi,
Please return this model as fast as you can to shop and ask for redund or other model.
This kind of problem should not show up on newly purchased notebook.

hello, the hp customer service found the problem with my pc after 2 pc replacements. they could not locate the problem at first but when they checked the installed memory and replaced it with a new one, since those 2 pcs dimm 4gb additional memory which were given free when i bought the pc, was originally causing evry pc that was given to me. i think checking the memory through hp's diagnostics isnt that reliable at all since it shows that everything is normal upon running it but when you physically replaced it is where the solution comes in.
thank you for those who helped out and thank you HP customer service singapore for doing a great job where everybody learned a thing or 2.
