My wife's tx2000 switches off randomly

This unit - bought in London - shuts down randomly. Heat is not a problem. We are in the midst of a freezing winter and our heating is not great!

Is there a ROM update?

Cheers

Re: My wife's tx2000 switches off randomly

Is there an error code or error message? Was it a "Blue Screen"? If heat is not an issue, for random shutdowns, I would check memory - F10 and run the memory tests.

Hi, I am just wondering what was the outcome of your problem with the TX 2000 as I am experiencing the same thing?

Re: My wife's tx2000 switches off randomly

Guys,

I hope you have warranty on your TX models cos they is definitely something wrong with the hardware specs working along with this model. Many people have various problems and only HP can work on it. If you have warranty, send it in immediately. Why are consumers getting bogged down by self repair on products that are paid for with good money. That is the best advice as in less than 15months, I am sending my tx 2502 unit into HP for the 3rd time...

Re: My wife's tx2000 switches off randomly

I have the same problem with my tx2000, and I have talked to one other person who also has it with an HP computer.  I am inclined to think that it is the device overheating because it sometimes will not boot up right away after shutting down.  It makes the tablet unreliable for meeting or classroom note taking.
