TX2-1015ea VGA out?

Hi, I have just purchased a TX2-1015ea, and I overlooked the fact that it doesn't have S-Video!

Anyhow, I am trying to view on my LCD through VGA out, but I am not able to.

I have purchased a VGA cable which allows s-video cable to be attached (as per http://www.mcbworld.com/mcbworld/laptop-svideo-rare-adapter-cable-p-148.html)

So basically this cable plugs in directly into the laptop VGA out port, and then a S-video cable connects into the adapter and finally into the TV.

When I open the Ati console it does not detect anything is connected??

Please somebody help me!

Thank You

Re: TX2-1015ea VGA out?

Im having a similar problem. I just bought a new monitor to allow me to work with my laptop on a bigger screen and it seems no information on red colours is being transmitted from my laptop, everything comes out blue/green. The monitor works perfectly with other computers. There seems to be a hardware issue

Re: TX2-1015ea VGA out?

The Ati Radeon Card does have tv-out option...but when I connect via the method explained above no display is detected, and if I force detect, it still does not work. I have no display at all.

Would it work if i bought a direct VGA to VGA cable?

Re: TX2-1015ea VGA out?

maybe but I think it may depend on the screen you are attaching it to. if it is meant to be used primarily as a tv it may have trouble synchronizing with the laptop. VGA to VGA is probably your best bet
